Government & Community Relations (GCR) coordinates UCSD's advocacy activities in volunteer recruitment, cultivation and training. In partnership with UCSD Alumni Affairs and Communications, GCR interacts with UCSD's alumni volunteers and friends of the campus, who play active roles in advocating on behalf of UCSD. A major responsibility of the Advocacy Program is to develop training programs for volunteers, communication tools regarding advocacy activities and staff support for advocacy events.
The UCSD Advocacy Program also works closely with the UC Office of the President to manage system-wide advocacy information and activities through the UC in California program. To learn more about this program, or to sign up to participate, visit the UCSD's UC in California portal.
To find out more about advocacy activities and opportunities at UCSD, please contact Lourdes Jimenez, Director of State and Local Government Relations.
