In the 1950's and 1960's, San Diego visionaries imagined a new campus of the University of California atop a barren mesa. Today, UCSD embodies that vision and is proud to be a vital part of the fabric of San Diego 's diverse communities. We are committed to strengthening our leadership role in sustaining the vitality and quality of our common living environment.

UCSD community projects represent UCSD's commitment to the people of San Diego to use our research and teaching resources for the benefit of our community. Our community projects include physicians volunteering in clinics, students tutoring in K-12 classrooms, regional collaborations to strengthen homeland security, and access to the rich array of cultural activities on campus.

Community Relations support and services are designed to:

•  Strengthen Relationships with the Community
•  Build Community Networks to Achieve Strategic Civic Goals
•  Cultivate Partnerships with our Business Neighbors
•  Establish Dialogue with our Neighbors
